Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Assures Equal Access to COVID-19 Vaccines

by Nadia Zaiem | Feb 11, 2021 | news

On February 1, 2021, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that all individuals, regardless of immigration status, should have equal access to a COVID-19 vaccine once eligible under local distribution guidelines. DHS also announced that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will not make arrests at or near vaccines distribution sites.

Also, as a part of its efforts to ensure all individuals have access to the COVID-19 vaccine, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), a subagency of DHS, will be setting up vaccinations sites in underserved and rural communities.
